ECU announces spring enrollment
(Jan. 20, 1994) — East Carolina University’s enrollment for the spring semester is 16,581, according to the registrar’s office that released enrollment figures today.
The total is below the count reported last fall but is above the registration from a year ago. Last fall’s enrollment was 17,729. In the spring of 1993 there were 16,423 students attending classes. ECU traditionally enrolls fewer students in the spring than in the fall semesters. A growing number of part time students contributed to the enrollment increase this spring. Registration totals show 3,236 part time students in classes this month compared to 2,921 part time students last January. Included in the 1994 spring figures are 9,391 women and 7,190 men. There are 13,687 undergraduates and 2,894 graduate students.
Classes began Jan. 10.
