Spring enrollment numbers available

Spring semester enrollment figures released this week at East Carolina University show a total of 16,423 students, an increase from a year ago.
Last spring 15,853 students attended classes on campus. The figures for 1993 include 13, 621 undergraduate students and 2,802 graduate students, according to the ECU Office of the Registrar.

Women students outnumber the men on campus by nearly 2,000. There are 9,245 women compared to 7,178 men this spring. There are more women than men in graduate and undergraduate programs.
Last August, ECU set an attendance record when 17,757 students on campus for the fall term.

Based on past enrollment figures, ECU traditionally enrolls more students in the fall than in the spring semester of an academic year.
