In honor of National Nurses Week, May 6-12, we’re taking a look at the excellence in health care that the East Carolina University College of Nursing brings to ECU, the state, and beyond.


Doctor of Nursing Practice

Master of Science in Nursing

• Adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist (post-master’s available)
• Neonatal clinical nurse specialist (post-master’s available)
• Nursing leadership (post-master’s available)
• Neonatal nurse practitioner (post-master’s available)
• Nurse midwifery (post-master’s available)
• Nursing education (post-master’s available)
• Nurse anesthesia (post-master’s available)
• Psychiatric (mental health nurse practitioner)

The college opened in 1959 with five instructors and one office. Today it has 1,255 students enrolled across all programs and is located on the ECU Health Sciences Campus with the Brody School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, College of Allied Health Sciences and Laupus Health Sciences Library.
