Summer internships allow Pirates to gain experience
Every summer, East Carolina University students gain real-world experience and apply what they’ve learned in the classroom at an internship.
The following stories highlight eight summer experiences that ECU students participated in, ranging from all aspects of a police department in New Bern to working with pediatric cancer patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While their experiences are unique, one aspect is true for all eight: they learned a lot in their field, but even more about themselves.
